Manufacturing
We provide one-stop services, ranging from mold design and production, die casting, gravity casting, machining to surface treatment and assembly.
Precision zinc die castings at STK are created using the “Hot Chamber” method of die casting zinc alloys. With this method molten zinc is injected into the die, by means of a plunger and gooseneck.
For metal solutions that require high process stability, we recommend series production in zinc die casting. Thanks to the low melting point and the low processing temperature, the cycle time is very short. Further advantages are high strength, narrow tolerances, excellent flow behavior, low energy consumption and optimum conditions for surface refinement.
We cast your zinc die-cast parts in Zamak 5 (Z410) from 3 to approx. 1000 g shot weight on high-speed machines with 7 t closing force and conventional die-casting machines with 20 to 200 t closing force and a high degree of automation, paired with specific manual work.
Why Zinc For Die Casting
Zinc is a highly fluid material and hot chamber die casting utilizes high pressure during in the process. Therefore, allowing the material to penetrate small features in the tool. This provides a variety of benefits to you including:
Faster Production Times
Reduce secondary operations by casting near net shape
Reduction in porosity of the end product
Die life is substantially increased due to the lower melting point of zinc
Reduction of waste due to design efficiencies
Zinc Die Cast Parts including runner and sprue
Die Casting Equipment
Our resources include over fifty (50) 14 to 16 ton machines. These machines are run on a launder system optimized for economical production. Some of these machines leverage robotic extraction and trim the casting in a single motion. Therefore, we can improve our production velocity, reduce cost, and reduce scrap.
In addition to our launder line, we have over 30 stand-alone machines, ranging from 60 tons to 500 tons. These machines provide for larger castings and those requiring higher pressure and locking force requirements.
