Machining Service

Machining is very commonly used as a “secondary process”, where minimal material is removed and the cycle time is short. This is due to the high tolerance and surface finishes that die casting offers. Machining is often used to add or refine precision features to an existing part.

STK offers various machining services. Generally, there is very little machining that is necessary for die castings. The reason is the near net shape that can be obtained during the die casting process.

Due to part design, some of STK’s customers require close or tighter tolerances than die casting can maintain. Therefore, machining plays a pivotal role in our ability to supply our customers with a ready-to-use finished product.

STK’s CNC machining work-centers provide a broad range of options depending on the complexity of the casting. For more complex parts, CNC work centers produce precision accuracy with tremendous flexibility. STK’s CNC machining capabilities include but are not limited to:
